Ok, all the pros, oldtimers, experienced and everyone else who wants to contribute - please answer this. I would like to know the pros and/or the cons of each as far as movies are concerned. Bit torrent, direct download or streaming. Include any category you want (ex. speed, clarity, ease of use, etc.)

It depends on what you're looking for:

Bittorrent:

Advantages : faster (0day, pretimes); rare content...
Drawbacks : less secure than ddl or streaming for ex; involvement in the trackers is usually required (hit&run forbidden as example).

Streaming:

Advantages: quickly accessible, lot of complete seasons of a series for example. Useful to see if you like a show or not, before downloading, or buying it.
Drawbacks : usually not the best quality, links dies quite fast too. It pedends on your connection, but the video may lag a bit (de-synchronization between image and voices without mentioning some video hosts maximum time limits, country restrictions, etc.

Direct Download:

Advantages: good speed (depending on the file host and you connection speed of course), accessibility.
Drawbacks: file hosts restrictions (maximum dowload), file safety issues sometimes.

there is also other methods of sharing like FTP, edonkey, gnutella, etc.
